REGISTRATION OF GMP+ CERTIFIED CARRIERS

1

Register in the Certag system

Each GMP+ certified carrier needs to register in the Certag system to be able to enter loading compartments in the Database of Certified Transport and to use other carrier-specific features, such as the simple telematics system for planning of transport operations, electronic transport logbooks for drivers or Certag system NFC tags for authentication of printed transport logbooks.

Learn more...

The registration process includes a verification of the carrier company data by the Certag system operator. The verification is an assessment of the integrity of the carrier company data and its GMP+ certification status. After successful completion of the registration process, the carrier may begin using the functionalities of the Certag system.

Any transport company wishing to register as a GMP+ certified carrier in our system should select the Certag PREMIUM plan. The purchase of one license (for one user) is sufficient to register the company and the loading compartments it uses in the publicly available Database of Certified Transport. To use the other features of the Certag system, such as our simple telematics system or electronic transport logbooks (mobile app), the carrier should purchase one license for each employee involved in the organization and execution of transport (drivers, forwarders, transport managers, etc.).

The Certag PREMIUM plan allows the purchase of multiple licenses for teams responsible for the execution of GMP+ assured transport services. It also allows to employees to be assigned to specific roles:
- Administrator - Employees entitled to manage the company account, assign roles to other users, renew licenses and have access to all of the company's electronic transport logbooks. Usually, this role is assigned to owners, transport managers or IT administrators.
- Manager - Employees who plan transport routes, assign transports to drivers, register Certag system NFC tags (where used) to loading compartments, and have access to the company’s electronic transport logbooks. Usually, this role is assigned to senior managers, quality managers, transport managers and forwarders.
- Users - Employees who have access to transport logbooks for their own accounts only. This role is assigned to drivers.

Download the Certag mobile app

Carriers registered in the Certag system must download the Certag mobile app to use our system features.

Learn more...

Carrier employees involved in the transport of GMP+ status products must download the Certag mobile app to begin using its functions.

GMP+ certified carriers use the Certag mobile app:
- To register loading compartments in the Database of Certified Transport,
- As a simple telematics system for communication between forwarders and drivers (organization of transport routes),
- For drivers, to register the results of cleanliness inspections of loading compartments in the electronic transport logbook (before loading) and cleaning regimes performed after unloading
- To assign Certag system NFC tags to loading compartments registered in the Database of Certified Transport (if the carrier uses printed transport logbooks with Certag system NFC tags).

Register loading compartments in the DCT

With the Certag mobile app, GMP+ certified carriers may register the means of transport they use in the Database of Certified Transport (DCT) as presented on the right.

Learn more...

Following the registration of loading compartments in the system, the information on the transport company and means of transport it uses becomes publicly available in the Database of Certified Transport. The carrier may register plate number (for road transport) or other types of identification number (e.g. for rail wagons or containers) in the Certag system.

Once the loading compartments have been registered in the Certag system, customers of GMP+ certified carriers can use the Certag mobile app (or the Database of Certified Transport via web browser) to verify:
- If loading compartments are assured by a certified carrier;
- The GMP+ certification status of the carrier;
- The three most recent loads;
- The cleaning regimes performed after recent loads.

ELECTRONIC TRANSPORT LOGBOOKS

4

Schedule transports using our telematic system

Carriers use our electronic transport logbooks as a telematics system to plan transport operations and assign them to drivers.

Learn more...

Representatives of the company responsible for planning transport (owners, transport managers, forwarders) can easily schedule transport operations and assign drivers using the Certag mobile app (as shown on the right) or via the convenient web browser interface of the Certag system.

Information on scheduled carriages will be made available to relevant drivers in their Certag mobile app. Drivers may then make records in the app in the same way as in traditional printed transport logbooks.

5

Drivers use electronic transport logbooks

Drivers for GMP+ certified carriers may use the multilingual (EN, NL, D, PL) Certag mobile app as an electronic transport logbook for the registration of transport routes, cleanliness inspections and cleaning regimes performed after unloading.

Learn more...

The Certag mobile app includes a transport logbook feature. Once transport routes have been scheduled in the Certag system and assigned to drivers, they become available to drivers in the mobile app as shown on the right.

If necessary, drivers may also edit scheduled transport routes or add new ones.

For every transport operation assigned in the electronic transport logbook, drivers may record transport data, the results of the cleanliness inspection of the loading compartment and the cleaning regimen performed after unloading (cleaning regimes A, B, C and D according to IDTF database requirements).

6

Share history of loads and cleaning regimes

Using the Certag mobile app, drivers can easily share information with loading inspectors regarding the three most recent loads and the cleaning regimes performed after these loads.

Learn more...

Our electronic transport logbook allows drivers to easily share information on the three most recent loads and the cleaning regimes performed after these loads. Data is shared via a single tap in the electronic transport logbook as shown on the right.

The data is transmitted to entry-check personnel automatically via Bluetooth without any further action from the driver or inspector. The driver may also share a 6-digit Certag sharing code with other Certag mobile app users. In this way, information on the three most recent loads and cleaning regimes can be shared with other Certag system users who are not currently at the same location as the driver.

Note: Drivers can only share basic information via Certag mobile app: the plate number (or other ID number) of the loading compartment, the carrier company data, the GMP+ certification status, details of the three most recent loads, the corresponding IDTF numbers and the cleaning regimens performed after unloading. As such, critical information on transport routes remains confidential.

AUTHENTICATION OF PRINTED TRANSPORT LOGBOOKS

7

Acquire Certag system stickers or transport logbooks with NFC tags

As an alternative to electronic transport logbooks, drivers for GMP+ certified carriers may also use traditional printed transport logbooks. Certag system NFC tags can then be used to authenticate the carrier’s own transport logbooks. Carriers can also acquire Certag system transport logbooks with an electronic layer for its drivers. These are standardized, multilingual and recommended by GMP+ International.

Learn more...

Drivers for GMP+ certified carriers may use our electronic transport logbook (via the Certag mobile app) to record transport routes, the results of cleanliness inspections and the cleaning regimes performed after unloading.

However, printed transport logbooks may also be used. Certag system stickers with NFC tags or our standardized, multilingual transport logbooks with an electronic layer can be used as authentication tools for transport records, helping to assure transparency, reliability and fraud prevention in the transport of feed.

To make use of the authentication system for printed transport logbooks, carriers registered in the Certag system must acquire either:
- Certag system standardized, multilingual transport logbooks equipped with Certag system NFC tags,
or
- Stickers with Certag system NFC tags to be used in printed transport logbooks.

You may contact the Certag system operator via our contact form to order stickers with NFC tags or printed transport logbooks with NFC tags (only within the EU).

Assign NFC tags to loading compartments

Carrier using the Certag system may assign acquired NFC tags (in the form of Certag stickers or transport logbooks) to loading compartments registered in the Database of Certified Transport.

Learn more...

Once a GMP+ certified carrier has acquired Certag system stickers with NFC tags or transport logbooks equipped with NFC tags, an employee with Manager or Administrator privileges role may assign them to loading compartments registered previously in the Database of Certified Transport. This is done with the Certag mobile app as shown on the right.

This way, a certified carrier can start using Certag system NFC tags to authenticate its transport logbooks.

9

Use transport logbooks with NFC tags

Once an NFC tag has been assigned to the loading compartment, printed transport logbooks with NFC tags may be used by drivers.

Learn more...

After that, customers of GMP+ certified carriers may use the Certag mobile app to verify the authenticity of printed transport logbooks as shown on the right.
